Sydney Weekender Visits Thaitown Sydney!

Media

Sydney! Guided by Joy Thaiposri, President of the Thai Town Business and Thai Community Association, Lizzy explored the rich cultural and culinary treasures of this vibrant precinct.

She uncovered the fascinating story behind Thaitown’s origins — starting with Pontip, Sydney’s very first Thai grocery store, which laid the foundation for what would become the heart of Thai culture in the city.

🍢 At Huamoom Thai Market (ตลาดนัดหัวมุม), Lizzy discovered Thai street food bursting with unexpected delights and bold flavours.

🍽️ She also dined at At Bangkok, one of the first Thai restaurants to open in Thaitown, renowned for its authentic dishes and lively atmosphere — complete with live music every night from 10pm until late!

The episode aired on Sunday, June 1st at 5:30pm, but if you missed it, don’t worry — you can still catch the full adventure on the Sydney Weekender YouTube channel. 🎥

Come experience the sights, sounds, and tastes of Thaitown for yourself!
